Jason Chang, MD


Dr. Chang is an Assistant Professorof Emergency Medicineatthe Universityof PittsburghSchool of Medicine.He currently serves as the Associate Chief of Emergency Services atUPMCMagee Women’s Hospital.He has a primary role in the educational mission of the residency focusing on developing skills in decision-making, multitasking, and clinical knowledge through simulation.Heis an activefacultymemberwithinthe Pittsburgh medical school whereheserves on multiple committees aimed at improving the curriculum.He is a course director for the Introduction to Being a Physicianweekfor first year medical students,course director for the EKG Professional Enrichment Course for second year students,andthecourse director for theInterprofessional Geriatric course for third year medical students.Throughout the year he servesin various academic and mentorship roles in the school of medicine.During the COVID19 pandemic, Dr. Chang teamed with a group of physicians and engineers to design, patent and publish scientific data on a noveldeviceto help protect healthcare workers performing aerosol generating procedures.Their work was featuredinmultiple articles and published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine.Dr. Chang also has the privilege of serving as a teamNHLEmergency Physician for the Pittsburgh Penguinsorganizationsince 2016.
