Khaled Nashar, MD, FACP, FASN, FNKF

Dr. Nashar completed his Internal Medicine residency and chief residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). He then served as a faculty member at the division of general internal medicine prior to pursuing additional training in Nephrology at UPMC. Subsequently he joined the faculty at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) in 2011. In 2015, he became the Program Director for the Nephrology Fellowship Training and in 2018, he was selected to be the Division Chief. Dr Nashar’s clinical interests include CKD care transformation, hypertension and home dialysis. He is the lead specialist for CKD at the Highmark Health-living health care model. Dr Nashar is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Drexel University College of Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation. He is very involved within the NKF in western PA. He chairs the Medical Advisory Board and has led and organized multiple professional development programs as well as kidney disease screening programs.
